While Soldier Field is being renovated for the next year or so, The Chicago Fire (think soccer) is playing in my backyard for the summer.
Ok, not really my backyard, I don’t have one. It’s more like an alley full of restaurant dumpsters and empty beer bottles back there, but still, I could swing a dead bat and hit the stadium.
Tonight’s rain is not stopping their home season opener. Apparently rain or shine, they’re gonna be out there those tough bastards.
Downside: How many times can a girl hear Olay! Olay! Olay! and not go crazy? We'll know come fall.
Upside: Open window to hear thousands of peoples cheering and I can pretend it’s all for me! *
ann-frank plays the air guitar! [crowd cheers]
ann-frank puts her dishes in the sink! [crowd roars]
ann-frank’s doing The Robot! [ crowd stomps and goes wild]
ann-frank pops open a bottle of beer! [olay! olay! olay!]
and so on and so forth …
An interesting summer, indeed.
* much like game day when I lived near that baseball field the Cub’s play on onceuponatime.
