Here's the thing: I don't want to be a dick, what with all that's going on in NO and all but just a little while ago Chief Justice Rehnquist went up and died. And I know it's not like we didn't see it coming, I mean, the man's had cancer and all for a long time. But that now means there's another BIG FAT vacancy open on the Supreme Court -- you know, now that Sandy's gone, too.

And, again, not to take away from any of the tragedy going down in NO right now, but let's not put it past the Prez of this US of (motherfucking A!) to use this NO situation to slip another Uber Conservative on by because we are otherwise occupied.

Okay, so what I really mean to say is - I bet that Rehnquist actually died like MONTHS ago, but the Bush Admin was, you know, waiting for the right fucking distraction to announce it so they could slip another Uber Conservative on by.
